Small terraced country garden
Location: Shropshire

The Brief
This was a new build in the rural setting in Shropshire. The client desired a low maintenance garden using linear lines and a strong axis.
They wanted to keep the existing paths and shed but to create movement and interest in the rest of the garden. They also wanted somewhere to sit and relax.
The Design
The main issue in this garden was the change of levels. The use of timber for raised beds and steps was both an economic and effective solution.
A gravel path with stepping stone slabs allowed an easy flow and journey around the garden.
The new timber seating area leads to the lowest corner of the garden where you can relax in the comfort of a hammock.
The addition of a small water feature brings movement and life to the garden and acts as a focal point as you come out of the house.
